The on-going uprising which brought the mainland Indian politics together was triggered by the killing of Wani on July 08, 2016 and will complete a century of days by Sunday. In Western state of Gujarat – the home state of premier Narendra Modi – on Thursday life size banners appeared in a city days ahead of AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s October 16 rally. The banners carrying photographs of Burhan Wani, Hafiz Saeed and Osama bin Laden along with Kejriwal appeared in the city of in Surat. Those who had put up the banners termed them “heroes of Pakistan” and appeared at different locations across the city yesterday. In a report published by The Indian Express, the AAP blamed right wing BJP which has, however, denied any role in it. Gujarat will be going to state elections next year and many parties are luring people. The state is witnessing a ‘revolt’ of Potedars and Dalits currently. After getting information about the banners, AAP leaders reached the spot and removed them. Surat AAP spokesperson Yogesh Jadvani said, “The banners had been put up by BJP workers as they don’t want Kejriwal meeting to take place. We have removed eight such banners.” Kejriwal will be addressing a public meeting at Yogi chowk in Varachha area on October 16 and AAP expects a gathering of over one lakh audience.
